Is the CIA in your kitchen? Judge Napolitano
11:20 PM
No comments
Relying on the Patriot Act, federal agents have written their own search warrants just like the British soldiers did. They have done this more than 250,000 times since 2001. But the government has rarely used any evidence from these warrants in a criminal prosecution for fear that the targeted person would learn of the government's unconstitutional and nefarious behavior, and for fear that the act would be invalidated by federal courts.
Now, back to the CIA in your kitchen. When Congress created the CIA in 1947, it expressly prohibited the agency from spying on Americans in America. Nevertheless, it turns out that if your microwave, burglar alarm or dishwasher is of very recent vintage, and if it is connected to your personal computer, a CIA spy can tell when you are in the kitchen and when you are using that device. The person who revealed this last weekend also revealed that CIA software can learn your habits from all of this and then anticipate them. Acting "diabolically" and hoping to "change fingerprints and eyeballs" in its "worldwide mission" to steal and keep secrets, the CIA can then gut the Fourth Amendment digitally, without ever physically entering anyone's home. We already know that your BlackBerry or iPhone can tell a spy where you are and, when the battery is connected, what you are saying. But spies in the kitchen? Can this be true? Who revealed all this last weekend? None other than Gen. David Petraeus himself, President Obama's new director of the CIA. I wonder whether he knows about the Fourth Amendment and how the Supreme Court has interpreted it and that federal laws prohibit his spies from doing their work in America. I wonder whether he or the president even cares.
Do you?

Has anybody seen it? I can only imagine. He wants the Sudanese government to stop killing and injuring its citizens. He's a lefty, but I respect his desire to stand for something. He says this is his first arrest.

Outrage! Teen commits suicide after forced marriage to rapist
6:51 AM
No comments
16-year-old Amina Filali swallowed rat poison after enduring 5 months of beatings at the hands of her rapist/husband. She had been accosted and raped on the street by a stranger in Morocco at the age of 15. She did not tell her parents for 2 months, according to her father. When she complained and the family reported the rape, the Moroccan legal system suggested marriage as a way of preserving the family "honor". The rapist initially refused to marry her, then relented in order to avoid the 10 to 20 year prison sentence for raping a minor. Internet activists in Morocco are outraged and are trying to get Article 475 of the penal code removed. This is a law that allows kidnappers to avoid prosecution by marrying their victims.

Congress is being cut out of the War Powers process. Congress objects. President and staff apparently believe they can make war decisions in consultation with the United Nations, and not with the rest of us. Hat Tip Amusing Bunni but this is no joke.

From Japan, Percussive Gratitude at the Lincoln Center
8:16 AM

This video is not from the Lincoln Center, but from 2010. I will continue to search for more recent postings of Ondekoza performing Amazing Grace.
I have always liked Japanese taiko drumming. This is a nice performance.

Amid a din of percussion and heavily amplified voices and instruments in the Rose Theater of Jazz at Lincoln Center on Tuesday evening came a remarkably understated moment. Not quiet, exactly, since it too was amplified, but simple, intimate, unexpected and soul wrenching.
The program, “Overcoming the Disaster: Gratitude From Japan to the World,” nearing the first anniversary of the great earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident in northeastern Japan, was presented free by the Japan Foundation as part of an international tour to show gratitude to the world for its sympathy, solidarity and support. Dominated by the crack drumming ensemble Ondekoza, the evening also included performances by Wakumizu Kagura, a folk-dance troupe from one of the hardest-hit areas; the Bamboo Orchestra; the Ochi Brothers, a percussion duo; the Umezu Chibi Brass; and various individual artists.More here.

I am Breitbarticus on Huffpo

I have decided to venture back onto the Huffington Post and dust off my old account to hassle the libs over there, heh heh. Hey, Breitbart wasn't afraid to mix it up with libs. I let them get a load of my pro-Netanyahu and anti-Obama opinions and they got all stirred up, lol. They could not dismiss me, though. My account is classified as a #2-level networker with 266 fans. Better than most of those newbies.

Obama claims to support Israel in an election year

Obama gave a speech to AIPAC today. He tried to insinuate he has Israel's best interests at heart. But this next quote can be taken one of two ways....
"When the chips are down, I have Israel's back," he said.

I'm still sad about Breitbart

I saw a tweet that a lib said we conservatives did not just lose a soldier when Andrew Breitbart died, we lost an entire division.
Too true.
He was fearless. He marched his spies into the heart of ACORN offices in the sting operation that collapsed ACORN completely.
He brought down Anthony Weiner.
And he was constantly on the move looking for material to disable and destroy leftists.
Odd that he quietly drops dead hours before he planned to release material he said would be devastating to Barack Obama. Yes, his family claims he had heart trouble. But that does not rule out other causes of death. In fact, what on EARTH were the people thinking when they hastily announced him dead of "natural causes" hours after his death. Of course he may have died from a heart attack. But shouldn't there be a proper autopsy first before any official announcement? The way this death has been handled has been unusual.
Breitbart responded to me on Twitter once, about a year or 2 ago. I asked him why he retweets liberals who bash him. He said he did it because it was "fun".
Fun. Good for him. He enjoyed his work. And we enjoyed the fruits of it. He was a conservative dynamo who will be missed.

Bare Naked Islam site hacked by muslims again!

The Bare Naked Islam site is down again. Please spread the word. Apparently most heavy-hitter bloggers (talking heads on the news shows) are too cowardly to mention it. The link on my sidebar is a post 4 days old, and leads to an error message.
