Alessandra Ambrosio - Rule 5

This 30-year-old mother is already beautiful, and astounded admirers again when they realized that she was two months pregnant with baby number two when she walked in the recent Victoria's Secret fashion show. She just announced that she is four month along.

"My mother-in-law pulled out my nails"-Afghan bride, 15

She was found by police locked in a basement, missing fingernails, hair and chunks of flesh, which had been removed with pliers. Apparently the in-laws are under arrest, but the husband had already fled. She was reportedly tortured after refusing to be forced into prostitution. Human rights activists fear more violence against women in Afghanistan as the world focuses on the military drawdown.

New York Muslim Clerics Vow to Boycott Bloomberg's Prayer Breakfast

Is that so.

They are upset by AP reports detailing efforts to infiltrate and spy on mosques and Muslim neighborhoods? A letter to Bloomberg from a dozen clerics stated "Mayor Bloomberg, the extent of these civil rights violations is astonishing, yet instead of calling for accountability and the rule of law, you have thus far defended the NYPD's misconduct," the letter said. Bloomberg says that the NYPD does not take religion into account while policing.

Civil rights violations? Perhaps Muslims should have noted the civil rights violations committed against 3000 people on 9/11. Islam is more of a subversive political/cultural cult than a religion, anyway.  Bloomberg is correct to support the protection of the American People.

A group of people with stated intentions to crush the western way of life is shocked that they are being monitored? Gosh, I don't know what to say....

Rule 5 Aishwarya Rai

New mom Aishwarya Rai is content doing diaper duty as for now and has no plan to return to the silver screen, at least not for a year. The recent reports that Aishwarya Rai will make a comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali have apparently surprised her family.

Muslim textbooks betray moderate fakery

Calling the muslim textbooks from Saudi Arabia "extremist teachings" is the heart of what is wrong with our western misunderstanding of Islam.  We need to face that the part in the textbooks about killing Jews and cutting off people's hands and feet are not extremist views at all.  They are Islam.

The Fox News headline reads "Extremist teachings remain in Saudi textbooks despite Kingdom's claims of reform".  Of course they do.  LOL.  Did these people ever hear of taqiya?  Did they ever hear of lying in order to cover for a bloodthirsty cult?  Do they realize that followers of this cult are instructed to pretend to be "moderate" until they reach a critical mass in society and then full Islam may hold sway?  Do they notice how Jews and Christians and others are systematically "cleansed" from Islamic societies around the globe?

Where is moderate Islam.  Where is an area on Earth where muslims are a 75%+ majority of the population and they let others live in peace and practice religious freedom.  Where.

Nowhere.

Granted, I left the door open after dark, which I never do. But some Grinch came and did this to my 12-y-o. I guess there are more thefts of kid's things as the holiday season approaches, but this is so wrong.

My son tells me SOPA will cause massive internet censorship

Is this true about the Stop Online Piracy Act? I have to say that as someone who has been watching our congresscritters, when they start scurrying around during the winter break, on Christmas Eve specifically, I just KNOW they are up to no good. Why are they meeting again on December 21, 2011 to work on the Stop Online Piracy Act again? Why are no major media outlets reporting this legislation on their front page? How will SOPA affect the ability of bloggers to use images off the web for reposting? What about videos. My son tells me that if I embed a video or even post a link to a video that uses a copyrighted song as the background music, my site can be barred from the internet. Is this true? Darrell Issa is against SOPA.
"It's very clear that you can have hundreds of thousands of links in a matter of hours," Issa told a House panel evaluating the bill yesterday. "If the LA Times runs an article in their online paper, and they're talking about a site that promotes piracy … we would have to look and say, 'well Google's going to have to cut off the link to the LA times page because that link has a link." "Once you begin to cut off links -- once you become China-esque -- you start a snowball effect from which there is no end." Issa proposes an amendment to the SOPA bill called the Online Protection and Enforcement of Digital Trade Act, or the OPEN Act, written earlier in the month by a coalition of lawmakers including Issa and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.). According to CNET, the OPEN Act would interrupt funding to offshore piratical websites by targeting only Internet ad networks and financial providers such as credit card companies -- stopping short of SOPA's approach of allowing the Justice Department to seek a court order blocking Americans from accessing "rogue" websites.
My college boy's favorite website, Reddit, has posted a petition to ask Google to put SOPA info on their front page so that Americans will at least be informed about what our legislature is trying to do.  It may also be time to melt the phone lines and faxes into Washington again.

Update: Teresamerica posted a larger graphic, copied here, and a video.

Simon's Cat in "Fowl Play", or Guard Your Turkey

I hope my friend, Amusing Bunni, likes this one. This same thing pretty much happened to me when I was in high school. My mother had left a roast on the kitchen counter, raw, and the cat was spotted running down the hall with it and took it under her bed in the master bedroom. The household was not pleased, but I was amused!

Woman's breast implant "swallowed" by her body during Pilates exercise

Eeew. And to think I took my first Pilates class a few weeks ago. Glad to say my body did not consume any other body parts during the ordeal. But I think I will stick to straight yoga and brisk walking from now on.
A 59-year-old U.S. woman's breast implant was "swallowed" by her body during a Pilates stretching exercise -- forcing her to go under the knife to have it retrieved and reinserted.
The woman, a cancer survivor, had undergone a double mastectomy and had then gotten breast implants. Her ribs had also been weakened after a heart operation.
During a Pilates stretching exercise known as a Valsalva maneuver the woman reported that her "body swallowed one of the implants," according to the account published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Tea Party Sadness: Gingrich, Romney, Really?

Great. Or not great, to be honest. Will we ever see a true conservative elected in our lifetimes? Or will we be relegated to the role of hectoring our "centrist" leaders to do the right thing. I mean, both of them voted for a number of liberal causes. We need someone who will represent us against Obama's agenda. We must repeal Obamacare and reign in spending in order to give confidence to the economy. Obama and his cronies have to go. But I sure wish there were a more conservative way to do this.

A Plot to Undermine the Right to Bear Arms - Fast and Furious

I knew it!

Scandal: Newly obtained documents show that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives discussed using its covert operation Fast and Furious to argue for new rules about gun sales. We told you so.
As we observed in June, the way Fast and Furious — the government's gun-running operation that resulted in the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry — was conducted made no sense unless its intent was to facilitate violence with U.S. weapons in the interests of pursuing the administration's gun-control agenda.
Now documents obtained by CBS News confirm that our first suspicions were correct.
As CBS' Sharyl Attkisson reports, emails show ATF officials discussed using the deliberate transfer of weapons to Mexican drug cartels to justify a new gun regulation known as "Demand Letter 3."
We say deliberate because congressional testimony by ATF agents demonstrates how the tracking of Fast and Furious weapons stopped at the border and that requests to interdict the weapons transfers and arrest the gun traffickers were denied by higher-ups.
Demand Letter 3 was so named because it was the third ATF attempt to have Southwest gun shops report all long-gun (rifle or shotgun) sales to the ATF — even those to law-abiding American citizens with all the proper registration and other forms.

Marmosets should be aborted

Look at how small they are.
Notwithstanding their mammal-like movements and the fact that they have all their fingers and toes, they are simply too small. They should be aborted at whim. {/sarcasm}

Disagree?  Then you are not "pro-choice" when it comes to pygmy marmoset abortion?

We The People...say what?

I saw a tweet just now that all public schools should be required to post a copy of the US Constitution in easy view of all students.

Kind of like posting worker's rights posters in the break room at work. Are not young citizens in sore need to know the rights guaranteed to them by our brave and loving forefathers?

Ode to the incandescent light bulb

I need bright light. I have radial keratotomy spoke wheel scars on both of my corneas. Darkness causes my pupils to dilate, then the light crosses the scars and my vision is greatly decreased. I bet I can't buy a 100-watt light bulb after January 1 even with a doctor's note. Thanks, congress. Thanks G.W. Bush. Thanks for stepping into my house and ripping out my MEDICALLY NECESSARY support technology. Bastages!

My name is Bosch and I'm a recovering Muslim

No wonder Muslims kill those who quit the so-called religion. The stinging indictment of Islam by this former Muslim says more than I have ever seen in one article. There are at least 10 tweet-worthy sentences in here that cry out to be repeated to all Americans and all westerners. Take heed now, before it is too late. Thanks to Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch for reposting this grand essay by Bosch Fawstin from Front Page Magazine.
My name is Bosch and I’m a recovering Muslim.
That is, if Muslims don’t kill me for leaving Islam, which it requires them to do. That’s just one of the reasons I’ve been writing and drawing against Islam and its Jihad for a number of years now. But fortunately for us, Islam hasn’t been able to make every Muslim its slave, just as Nazism wasn’t able to turn every German into a Nazi. So there is Islam and there are Muslims. Muslims who take Islam seriously are at war with us and Muslims who don’t aren’t.
But that doesn’t mean we should consider these reluctant Muslims allies against Jihad. I’ve been around Muslims my entire life and most of them truly don’t care about Islam. The problem I have with many of these essentially non-Muslim Muslims, especially in the middle of this war being waged on us by their more consistent co-religionists, is that they give the enemy cover. They force us to play a game of Muslim Roulette since we can’t tell which Muslim is going to blow himself up until he does. And their indifference about the evil being committed in the name of their religion is a big reason why their reputation is where it is.
So while I understand that most Muslims are not at war with us, they’ve proven in their silence and inaction against jihad that they’re not on our side either, and there’s nothing we can say or do to change that. We just have to finally accept it and stop expecting them to come around, while doing our best to kill those who are trying to kill us.
Another problem with Muslims who aren’t very Muslim is that they lead some among us to conclude that they must be practicing a more enlightened form of Islam. They’re not. They’re “practicing” life in non-Muslim countries, where they are free to live as they choose. But their “Islam” is not the Islam. There’s no separate ideology apart from Islam that’s being practiced by these Muslims in name only, there’s no such thing as “Western Islam”.
Non-observant Muslims are not our problem, but neither are they the solution to our problem. Our problem is Islam and its most consistent practitioners. There is nothing in Islam that stays the hand of Muslims who want to kill non-Muslims. If an individual Muslim is personally peaceful, it’s not because of Islam, it’s because of his individual choice, which is why I often say that your average Muslim is morally superior to Mohammad, to their own religion. The very rare Muslim who helps us against Jihad is acting against his religion, but that doesn’t stop some among us from thinking that his existence somehow means that he represents more than himself.
The only reason we’re talking about Islam is because it doesn’t mean peace. Islam wasn’t hijacked by a “small minority of extremists” on 9/11, it was hijacked by a very small minority of moderates whose embarrassment in being associated with such an immoderate religion leads them to engage in moderate truth telling about it, proving their irrelevance as allies.
In addition to these politically active moderates, when you see well-assimilated Muslims in the West, you’re not seeing Islam in action, you’re seeing individuals living up to the old adage, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. They’re essentially post-Islamic Muslims who have rejected Islamic values and have embraced Western ones. But since the process of their assimilation was implicit – as it happened naturally by their exposure to Western, i.e., pro-life, values – both Muslims and non-Muslims alike prefer to generously give Islam some credit for it. But a good Muslim, by our standards is a bad Muslim by Islamic standards. Objectively good human beings, who identify themselves as Muslim, give Islam a good face, one far better then it deserves. This only gives us a false impression about what it is we’re facing, with just another excuse not to face it. And this leads to our acceptance into our culture of stealth jihadists who have figured out how to say what we want to hear, while they scheme behind the scenes to further Islamize the West.
In the name of distinguishing the enemy from Muslims who mean us no harm, far too many Western commentators have avoided using the name “Islam” for the enemy’s ideology, and instead have decided to create their very own terms for the threat we’re facing, terms that are alien to the enemy.
Terms such as: Islamic Fundamentalism. Islamic Extremism. Totalitarian Islam. Islamofascism. Islamonazism. Political Islam. Bin Ladenism. Radical Islam. Militant Islam. Islamism. Jihadism.
We didn’t use terms such as “Radical Nazism”, “Extremist Shinto” and “Militant Communism” in the past. “Militant Islam”, Political Islam”, etc., are redundant terms. Our pretending otherwise has proven disastrous. Thousands of American lives, both civilian and military, have been sacrificed because of policies predicated on the myth that “Islam means peace.” We didn’t try to reform Shinto or Nazism during World War II; the major changes in those cultures took place only after we thoroughly de-militarized them.
And it’s no accident that Western analysts of Islam who are most informed about Islam are also most critical of it, while those least informed are least critical. But then there are those who, in their study of Islam, have become so enamored with their subject that, instead of sticking to what Islam is, they often write about what it isn’t, what they hope it might be. They seem preoccupied with doing their part to save Islam from those who have allegedly corrupted it.
Much more here.

Ferris Bueller's Ferrari--Oh, yeah!

My son came home from junior high today quoting the famous song "oh, yeah". Oh, that brought back memories. Which he didn't have. I found a movie trailer so he could understand the context of it. And then I found this gem. Classic scenes! My son shot up to 90 pounds this past year. Which means that he has begun winning in jujitsu sparring against kids who used to mop the floor with him. Oh, yeah!
