America, Canada print piles of money for Europe, inflation coming

I used to think that commenters saying that Americans would need a wheelbarrow of cash in order to buy a loaf of bread were alarmists.

But dude! Can someone explain to me why the Federal Reserve Bank is about to commence printing cheap dollars to help bankrupt European states? The Germans have money and they declined to bail out Greece and Italy. We are not far behind in our debt to GDP ratio. Why does this fall to us?

I am sick of it. I am tired of us ruining ourselves and ending up with the short end of the stick. Our government is stealing from each of us by printing money. The new printings makes all of our money worth less, and eventually it will be worthless.  I suppose they will tell us that we can't afford not to, they way they hoodwinked us into doing the stimulus spending in 2008/2009.

But it would be too much to ask that our government put Americans first. Maybe we should ask our leaders to take an oath to represent us or something. No, wait....they already did.

Mexico Attorney General Calls For US Gunwalkers' Extradition

Isn't it time Eric Holder took a vacation south of the border?
Mexico's top cop Attorney General Marisela Morales has requested the extradition of six people suspected of providing guns to drug cartels. She told the Mexico's lower house of Congress last Wednesday three of the suspects are in Texas and three are in California. Morales did not mention the gun walking operation known as Fast and Furious nor did she name the individual suspects. But, according to the Latin American Herald Tribune, "One of the requests involves three people believed to have acquired a large number of weapons under the Fast and Furious program." Morales has been under pressure from lawmakers to "punish those responsible" in the U.S for an ATF Phoenix program that supplied high-powered weapons to some of the most vicious killers on the planet.

The number of Mexican citizens killed with guns purchased under the ATF operation could number in the thousands, according to Chihuahua state prosecutor Patricia Gonzalez. Last fall Gonzalez' brother Mario, a lawyer, was kidnapped and brutally murdered by cartel hit men who videotaped the grisly slaying. An ATF officer working out of the U.S. embassy in Mexico later told Ms. Gonzalez AK-47 assault rifles found in the killers' arsenal were linked to Fast and Furious.
Ms. Morales states that she respects US sovereignty, however each country has a "shared responsibility" to investigate the crimes. And what was Eric Holder doing to help? Pointing fingers at congress and at American gun laws. Holder told congress, “earlier this year, the House of Representatives actually voted to keep law enforcement in the dark when individuals purchase semiautomatic rifles and shotguns in southwest border gun shops. Providing law enforcement with the tools to detect and to disrupt illegal gun trafficking is entirely consistent with the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.”

Senator Charles Grassley set the record straight: "In Operation Fast and Furious, law enforcement was not in the dark when individuals purchased these weapons. Rather, they were receiving real-time—and sometimes advance—notice from cooperating gun dealers when suspected straw buyers would purchase pistols or long guns. The information for both pistols and long guns was placed onto what is called a “4473” form, which gun dealers then faxed to the ATF. However, rather than using that information to question the suspected straw buyers and eventually make arrests, ATF chose to allow them to continue to traffic guns." Holder really should consider early retirement. His pathetic attempts to implement gun control in America by pushing guns to Mexican cartels is illegal at best. Wouldn't he like to sit on a beach in Cancun with a nice umbrella in his drink? I'm sure the Mexicans would love to see him.

Forever Lazy: Silliest infomercial, trending topic

When I saw the trending topic on Twitter yesterday "Forever Lazy", I had to click. Now I see they are selling adult onesie pajamas? OMG. It would be bad enough to wear this article of clothing at home. But they recommend it for a public tailgating party and football game? If I ever saw somebody wearing this, I would try to be polite and hide my grin. But really. There's gotta be a more dignified way to keep warm.

Catch a swimsuit model in a net - Rule 5

Just enjoy the pictures. Don't scratch the surface here, you might not like what you find out.
But if you insist on knowing more, this gal is Jessica White, a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, and an ex girlfriend of Sean Penn. The two of them broke up around the time that Ms. White got in trouble with the law for assault on another young woman.

Occupy Toronto tents 90% empty, per infrared camera (video)

The first 3.5 minutes are the important part, but the rest is interesting, too, if you have the time. Funny how these anarchists are all about property rights (to an empty tent in a public park) and the rule of law when a conservative pundit comes knocking. Is there a reason the police don't clear empty tents out of the park? Hat tip Instapundit via AmericanThinker.

Will student debt cancel a generation of future home buyers?

Yes, college students chose to take on their loans. I admit that. However, they do so at a young age, usually, and may not have fully thought through the ramifications of going in debt to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars, to earn a degree that often does not propel them into a career lucrative enough to pay back student loans. How will they enter the market as first-time home buyers when they are already saddled with a "mortgage"?

Some hard-working recent graduates notice that their less-focused friends who studied liberal arts, rather than engineering or accounting/business, are taking jobs with amusement parks and restaurants, while moving back home with parents. Of course loan repayment is deferred, which can double the loan's balance in a surprisingly short number of years.

My point is that higher education is overpriced. I attended the UC system in the mid-1980s, and paid about $1,200 per year for tuition. Tuition is now around $12,000 per year for the same school. Private schools can run up to $50,000 per year. This has way outpaced inflation. The cost of the education is even higher if you factor in 4+ years of lost wages while in school. Is there any way to get this under control?

Of course, there will always be some parent willing to foot the bill to send Sammy to an expensive college so that he can "find himself". He may graduate with a useless degree which only means he will have to ask his parents to finance another 4 years so that he can "really find himself". Then with a J.D. or a phd in hand, perhaps he will be mature enough to handle real work in the real world. Lucky kid with rich parents.

But for the rest of us, is it practical to rack up $200,000 in student loans in order to get a job that pays way less than the average $42,000 per year salary? How exactly is this practical? Should loan companies (er, now the government -- eyeroll) look at the earning potential of degrees before shoving huge piles of money at young adults who were children just the prior year? That is, if the graduate gets a job at all, and youth unemployment is much higher than average, some say over 50%.

Goose parents and goslings at the park

Are they not the cutest little things? These goslings got all of my little boys to stop riding/skating/razoring through the park. Everybody loves babies. And not all babies are born in the spring, apparently. Happy Thanksgiving! Photobucket

Caption this Recipe

I made dinner tonight and as I turned it on simmer I realized that I had made ROBERT WAGNER'S CORN SKILLET (from the Mike Douglas Show).   My mother used to cook this dish fairly regularly when I was growing up, and it was one of the recipes I photocopied for my own recipe book.  8-0 Eeeeek!

Can you help me? I would love to come up with another name for this dish.

Like maybe Wife Drowner Corn Skillet. Or perhaps Alleged Wife Drowner Corn Skillet. Any other ideas?

Newt says Gingrich-Cain ticket is a possibility

This wide-open Republican race changes by the day.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmax magazine, in response to the prospect of a Gingrich-Cain ticket or Cain-Gingrich ticket, Gingrich said that was "a real possibility."
He also listed a number of other names commonly placed on Republican vice presidential shortlists including Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.), Sen. Rob Portman (Ohio) and New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez.

Huffpo puts HORRIBLE picture of Herman Cain top of the news

I mean, the Huffington Post main headline today is "Cain Train Goes Off the Rails", with a VERY unflattering caricature photo. Come on. Sticking his tongue out? I expect Huffington Post writers to be biased against conservatives, but this is ridiculous. Sickening, actually. They really can't stand to lose the race card in the national election. He is getting Palinized by the left wing media and comedy shows. SNL was pretty awful last weekend, too, portraying Cain as winking and flirting in the middle of a GOP debate. I'm sorry, but this is just wrong.  Politics can be painful to watch sometimes.

Breaking: OWS Denver Crashes Conservative Blogger Conference

The first video shows a few OWS protesters and how the conservatives teach them a lesson. This short second video shows the OWS bums being led away by security to shouts of "Breitbart, Breitbart" by the conservative bloggers. "We're sending all our videos to Breitbart". Probably the worst threat that could be made against these cretins, who fear Andrew Breitbart like vampires fear the dawn.

Courtney Stodden Rule 5

It's easy for this 17-year-old to look good without makeup:
She looks a bit older with makeup, I would guess that she is 29:
And to keep chugging along on her 15 minutes of fame, she undergoes a public breast ultrasound this week in order to prove she does not have implants. video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player
And here is the young lady before she became famous for marrying a 51-year-old geezer at the age of 16:
She shows all the signs of being chewed up and spit out by the Hollywood machine. Overlarge breasts. Fish lips. Vacant expression.  And she's not even 18 yet.  Where are her parents?

Andy Rooney dies at 92

Rooney was featured on 60 minutes about a month ago, when he signed off television. He had intended to work up until the end, which is about what he did. He is said to have died following an unspecified surgery. I can only imagine his health must have been bad for him to consent to surgery at the age of 92. His final segment starts at 14:12. I remember watching him on 60 minutes with my parents every Sunday night when I was in high school. I don't watch the show any more; my politics have changed. Even so, I recall Andy Rooney with fondness. Rest in peace, Andy.

Businessman nails OWS protestors

Teresamerica put up a nice series of videos of Pete Schiff's visit to Occupy Wall Street. He makes a good argument against confiscating wealth from the richest 1% more than we already do. Not sure if he made any progress with the inane drones, though.
